Biography

Al Carver-Kubik has an extensive background in cultural heritage preservation, research, and education with a focus on printed materials and environmentally sustainable preservation solutions. Prior to his appointment at the National Endowment for the Humanities, Carver-Kubik worked with the Image Permanence Institute as a preservation researcher for ten years. He has worked in museums and galleries as a conservation technician, conservation researcher, object preparator, archival consultant, and volunteer gallery director. Carver-Kubik holds a master’s degree in photographic preservation and collections management from Ryerson University in coordination with the George Eastman Museum.
