Call to Arms: The Soldier and the Revolutionary War
The National Museum of the U.S. Army
The National Museum of the U.S. Army
Formed nearly two months after the “shot heard ‘round the world” in 1775, the Continental Army transformed into what we know as the U.S. Army. The National Museum of the United States Army in Fort Belvoir, V.A., has turned its sights from the Army’s 250th to America’s 250th.
Supported by a Celebrate America! grant, Call to Arms: The Soldier and the Revolutionary War is a major exhibition marking both monumental anniversaries. With hands-on experiences including a replica of George Washington’s tent, battlefield reenactments, and war artifacts from the original colonies, England, Canada, and France, this exhibit encourages visitors to deepen their knowledge about the Army’s role in shaping American history.
Call to Arms: The Soldier and the Revolutionary War is on display through June 2027.
