This three-week summer institute, “Engaging Geography in the Humanities,” will bring together 25 faculty members from institutes in higher education (mostly working in fields in the humanities) to learn about and engage with geographical frameworks and spatial analysis in their research and teaching. Organized through Northeastern University’s Humanities Center, the Institute will run from June 13-July 1, 2022. By engaging with readings, lectures, discussions, workshops, and field visits, the Institute will introduce scholars teaching in the humanities (and related disciplines) to concepts and methods from geography, as participants consider how these approaches can enhance their own research and teaching.
