Statement from National Endowment for the Humanities Chairman William Adams on the Death of Amy A. Kass

“We at the National Endowment for the Humanities are saddened to hear of the passing of Amy Kass, who contributed greatly to NEH as a dedicated member of the National Council on the Humanities,” said NEH Chairman William Adams. “Throughout her distinguished teaching career at the University of Chicago, Kass imparted to her students her passion for great works of literature and conviction that engagement with the humanities is fundamental to informed citizenship and civic participation.”
