Grant will help keep Pioneers Museum inventory safe

(September 20, 2019)

The Colorado Springs Pioneer's Museum has been awarded nearly $300,000 in a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities.

Museum officials say a new HVAC system to stabilize an off-site storage facility has been a priority for a long time.

The public only sees about 1-2% of what the museum owns, and the grant money ensures priceless inventory will be available to the community.

"We're also here to preserve these for researchers, for students, and for future generations, and this will allow us to do that at a better level," said Development Director Diana Barber Stine.
