The Ronda Los Carrozas de Cifuentes program, a partnership with Lore of the Land and NMHC, consists of a presentation of traditional popular music from the rural Castile region in Spain, the Christmas Rondas. This term defines a group of people that plays and sings in the streets. Today, this Christmas tradition is little known in Spain, and on the verge of disappearing.

The program includes a 45 minute lecture and slide presentation by scholar Enrique Díaz Martínez, explaining the history and meaning of Christmas Rondas and relating them to rural traditions in New Mexico.

Funded project of the New Mexico Humanities Council, a state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities.
