The “Making Memphis: 200 Years of Community,” exhibit celebrates the city’s bicentennial. The exhibit interprets events of the past 200 years that have shaped Memphis’ past, present, and form the basis for the city’s future. The exhibit illustrates how the threads of Memphis history form a larger story or web of history. The five major exhibit threads are Heritage and Identity, Commerce and Entrepreneurialism, Migration and Settlement, Art and Entertainment and Geography and the Environment.

Funded project of Humanities Tennessee, a state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities.
