Grant Application Regional Workshops: Winter/Spring 2014
NEH Grant Application Workshops are intended for anyone interested in learning about NEH funding opportunities and application strategies. Workshops listed here are conducted by Program Officers from the Division of Research. However, those interested in other NEH programs will find that much of the advice applies.
NEH workshops are open to all scholars in the region, regardless of their institutional affiliation, and are free. Advance registration is highly recommended, and in some cases may be required. Workshops may include an overview of NEH funding opportunities, tips for writing competitive proposals, an explanation of the review process, and an opportunity for Q&A.
Some workshops offer individual meetings with a Program Officer to discuss your project. These often require separate registration with an earlier deadline, so please read the workshop information carefully! You will benefit most from your interview if you provide your project information to the organizers in advance.
The Division of Research endeavors to reach as many regions as possible, and conducts 12-15 workshops throughout the United States in a given year. Institutions interested in hosting a workshop wait an average of two years before we are able to accomodate them. Requests are prioritized based on several factors, including the length of time a request has been in the queue; the length of time since our last visit to the institution requesting the workshop; and the extent to which the region is under-represented.
Currently available information for each workshop is listed below. New dates and locations will be added as they are confirmed.

Parking: The organizers have provided the following information for workshop participants.
- Parking in Visitor spots on campus. These are indicated with a white square with a "V." Rates are $1 for 45 minutes or $8 per day. The Hopkins Parking Structure is the closest concentrated parking site, but can be very full at this time of day, and it may be hard for visitors to find a spot.
- Parking in Visitor spots in the Gilman Parking Structure. Rates are $2 per hour or $16 per day. There tend to be more spots available in this site.
- Parking remotely at the Regents Lots via Campus Point Drive and Voit. This lot generally has parking readily available. Regular campus rates apply. There is a shuttle from that parking lot to the Price Center, which is located adjacent to the library.
