Faculty and staff honors at Purdue

Michael Jacovides, professor of philosophy in the College of Liberal Arts, received a National Endowment for the Humanities fellowship. The $60,000 award will support Jacovides' project, titled “Springs and Principles of the Universe: David Hume on Laws and Causes,” which will consist of research and writing leading to a book on the development of philosopher David Hume’s theories of laws and causation. The National Humanities Alliance supported 188 humanities projects nationwide totaling $30.9 million in grants.
