Director of Communications
Carmen M. Covelli-Ingwell is Director of Communications. She is a board member on the Latino Leadership & Policy Forum. Previously, she assisted with public relations and political fundraising for local, state, and national campaigns, and served on the inauguration working committee for San Diego mayor Kevin Faulconer. Covelli-Ingwell has also served on several boards promoting education, music programs in schools, and scholarships for college-bound students. She supported the military community as a key volunteer coordinator under the Marine Corps Family Readiness program. She also helped with animal welfare programs in adoptions, fostering, and promoting the humane treatment of animals.
From 2001 to 2005, Covelli-Ingwell served in the George W. Bush White House as an assistant in presidential personnel, then special assistant for cabinet affairs, and completing her service as special assistant to the press secretary. Covelli-Ingwell is an inventor and was granted a utility patent. She earned a bachelor’s in film and electronic media from California State University, Long Beach. She and her husband, LtCol Jonathan Ingwell USMC, Ret., have four grown children.
