This one-week intensive institute for K-12 teachers on the U.S. Constitution will explore the theories behind the Founding Fathers’ vision of the First Amendment and the changes in the First Amendment since its founding. Held in the Birthplace of our nation – Philadelphia, the institute will focus specifically on the First Amendment and the delicate balance between the rights of individuals and the need to govern society and keep it safe. Participants will learn from top Constitutional Scholars, participate in discussion of constitutional law and Supreme Court Case history, tour Independence Hall, Liberty Bell, Congress Hall, and the National Constitution Center.
