Internship: Office of Planning and Budget

The principal role in the Endowment for the Office of Planning and Budget (OPB) is the fiscal oversight and control of all agency appropriated funds. In this oversight, the office is responsible for the formulation, execution and annual review of these various appropriations and assurance that these funds are budgeted in accordance with both OMB and Congressional guidelines.

Interns would be responsible for assisting in either exercises related to the appropriate administration and execution of current appropriated funds or the budget exercises related to formulation of future budget year requests and reporting for OMB and Congress. In addition, interns would assist staff in budget research and writing exercises as appropriate to the individual’s skill set or prior experience. Backgrounds in public administration or finance would be appropriate for these intern positions. In addition, demonstrated skillsets would include writing, math and knowledge of excel/budget spreadsheets.
