Growing & Aging, a Reading & Discussion series at New York Academy of Medicine

June 14, 2017

Using literary and historical texts, we will examine how society's notions about aging have changed over time, explore how growing older changes our perception of ourselves and others, and consider where we find satisfaction in later stages of life. Readings will be drawn from A History of Old Age, Literature & Aging: An Anthology, as well as contemporary essays and articles on aging.

All readings will be made available to participants at no charge.

Humanities New York provides leadership and support across the state through grants, programs, networking and advocacy, encouraging critical thinking and cultural understanding in the public arena.  Humanities New York is a state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities.
