The Art of Language in Asian Culture exhibition will present selected artworks by Asian artists from the United States and several Asian countries. This juried exhibition will provide opportunities to examine the diversity and creativity found in contemporary Asian art and is organized by the Oklahoma State University Museum of Art in collaboration with the East Asia Library of Stanford University.
The opening reception begins at 5:00 pm, with a lecture beginning at 5:30 pm. The lecture titled "Language and Art; East and West" will be presented by Dr. Shaoqian Zhang, professor of East Asian Art History at Oklahoma State University and the executive curator of the exhibition.
Three more lectures will be held at the OSU Museum of Art on Mar. 23, Apr. 3, and Apr. 17. An exhibition catalogue will also be available, and an online exhibition will debut in 2018. Following its run in Stillwater which ends on June 6, 2017, the exhibition will be on display at Stanford University.
