Telling the Immigrant Story

December 15, 2016February 23, 2017

"Telling the Immigrant Story" will feature a variety of programs that share an aspect of turn-of-the-2oth Century Lower East Side immigrant history. Partnering with the Blavatnik Archives, the Museum at Eldridge Street will offer an exhibition of historic postcards from the Blavatnik's collection; a Lower East Side neighborhood walking tour that bring these historic postcards to life; a concert featuring an ethnomusicologist and performers featuring music focused on the meteoric rise of Yiddish popular entertainment in the early 20th century; and a K-12 educational program looking at immigration "then and now."

Funded project of the  New York Council for the Humanities. The  New York Council for the Humanities is a state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities.
