Common Heritage: Spotlight on North Texas (University of North Texas, Denton, TX)

April 16, 2016

The University of North Texas Libraries and Texas Archive of the Moving Image are collaborating to save Denton County's motion picture history. Although this region and it's citizens have played starring roles in numerous professional and amateur film productions dating back to 1913, there has been little effort to preserve this important part of our community history. Through the Common Heritage program, the two institutions will host a day-long community digitization event where community members can receive free digitization of print and media materials related to the region's extensive but disappearing film heritage including home movies, photographs, ticket stubs, and advertisements.
