The Education Division offers multiple opportunities to foster curricular innovation, including Humanities Connections, now in its ninth year. On January 30, 2025 from 2:00-4:00 pm EST, the division will host a virtual convening on “Collaborating Beyond the Humanities,” focusing on the health humanities as an exemplary site of cross-disciplinary collaboration. In the first hour, speakers in the health humanities—including former NEH project directors—will explore the joys, opportunities, and challenges of this work. In the second hour, all participants may join breakout rooms for further discussion.

Speakers include:

  • Sari Altschuler (associate professor of English and founding director of the Health, Humanities and Society Program, Northeastern University)
  • Scott Muir (director of undergraduate initiatives, National Humanities Alliance)
  • Vincent Punzo (professor of psychology and founder of medical humanities at Earlham College)
  • Elizabeth Dzeng (associate professor of medicine, University of California-San Francisco)
