HAPPY THANKSGIVING

Federal/State Partnership is thankful …
… for our humanities family
the more than 500 people who work at state humanities councils, at the Federation of State Humanities Councils, and at the National Endowment for the Humanities
the almost 1,200 volunteer humanities council board members
the myriad humanities professionals and state and local institutions and organizations with whom state humanities council work
the individual donors, foundations, corporations, and states that support the work of the state humanities councils
the many superb public spirited consultants who have visited the councils along with Federal/State Partnership
the chance to see and talk with so many state humanities council people at the Federation’s National Humanities Conference in St. Petersburg earlier this month
… for our nimble and creative partner humanities councils
that are 56 of the finest organizations in the country, if not the world
that provide humanities programming that touches—and changes—the lives of veterans, young people, teachers, retirees, business people, governments, humanities people, and countless others
that introduce people to books, food ways, cultural traditions, history, and all the fascinating aspects of the humanities
that nudge people to look at the world with different eyes
that create places where civility reigns and voices can be heard
… for lots of communication
on Facebook and Twitter and e-newsletters, on magazines and websites, on all the "hum" groups
on our website, partnership.neh.gov , that is no longer password protected
… for working in an environment that is never at a loss for ideas
