The National Endowment for the Humanities is seeking your help in building its first Non-fiction Summertime Reading List. It will be for young people who want to explore such issues as Black Potatoes: The Story of the Great Irish Famine 1845-1850 or Starry Skies: A Book Depicting the Life of a Famous Scientist, Mathematician, Astronomer, Philosopher, Physicist, Galileo Galilei. Please nominate your favorite non-fiction books for three age groups (5-8; 9-13; and 14-17). Nominated works should have lasting value and strong humanities content. Books should be in print. Please tell NEH in 100 to 200 words why your suggested books should be recommended for a new generation of readers using the form below.
