Echoes of the Past: The Buddhist Cave Temples of Xiangtangshan [1] is at the Institute for the Study of the Ancient World at New York University, New York, New York, September 11, 2012 – January 6, 2013. Combining ancient sculptures, ground-breaking scholarship, and contemporary digital media, "Echoes of the Past"  tells the remarkable story of the Xiangtangshan caves, one of the earliest and most important Buddhist pilgrimage sites in China.
