NEH-supported Projects Win Peabody Awards

The 71st annual George Foster Peabody Award winners were released, and three NEH-supported documentary films are among the winners: American Experience's Freedom Riders, about the hundreds of Civil Rights activists who challenged segregation in interstate transport in the American South during the spring and summer of 1961; American Masters' Charles and Ray Eames—The Architect and the Painter, on the husband and wife design team; and POV's My Perestroika, that examines how Russians experienced the social, political, and economic changes that accompanied the fall of communism in the 1980s. Click here [1]for more information on the Peabody Awards.

 

WGBH Educational Foundation received an NEH grant [2]for a multiplatform media project, including the documentary film Freedom Riders.

Filmmakers Collaborative, Inc. received an NEH grant  [3]for a one-hour television documentary, My Perestroika.

Catticus Corporation received two NEH grants [4]to script and produce a 90-minute film, Charles and Ray Eames—The Architect and the Painter.
