The New Hampshire Humanities Council's Humanities to Go speakers bureau is the recipient of the Business and Industry Association's 2011 New Hampshire Advantage Award. This award honors individuals, businesses, or organizations for their extraordinary work on a specific initiative, event, or project that helps preserve the state of New Hampshire's special character and quality of life. The award was presented at the BIA's annual dinner held on October 26, 2011 in Manchester, NH.
Humanities to Go makes high-quality humanities programming available to non-profit and community organizations across New Hampshire. These programs are open to the public free of charge. This deceptively simple program has offered a lifeline to cash-strapped organizations such as libraries, schools, senior centers, historical societies, and other community groups that can not afford to create or pay for such programs on their own. Humanities to Go brings neighbors together for learning and thoughtful conversation and connects New Hampshire residents to their state's rich historical and cultural resources.
