"St. Lucie Families - Crafters of Local History." This is a photographic record of family histories that collectively tell the story of pioneers on the Indian River and how they drew the original grid upon which Treasure Coast towns were built. Video interviews of members of early settler families add fascinating details to the record. The experience of looking at vintage photographs will trigger memories for long-time residents and surprise those who more recently chose to live in the area with the density and reach of the history of their community. This event will appeal to anyone interested in the history of Fort Pierce and surrounding towns, parents who want their children to become more familiar with the roots of the community, genealogists, local leaders and activists to understand the underpinnings of the people they serve.
Admission is free.
