The National Endowment for the Humanities, a federal agency, seeks interns interested in the fields of history, language, literature, jurisprudence, philosophy, and other areas of the humanities for work in its Office of Communications. Duties could include, but are not be limited to, working in social media, helping inaugurate new features on a redeveloped website, use of video and audio equipment, research, development of media lists and sources, and news and feature writing for all media platforms.
The NEH is interested in the public humanities and works to reach new audiences. It is developing a new website that will serve as a portal for all Americans with a particular interest in the humanities. Applicants should have a demonstrated interest in the humanities, strong research and writing skills, and familiarity with the use of new media. Reporting experience and the ability to use audio and visual equipment are a plus.

Students may work 16 to 40 hours per week. Students interested in academic credit should discuss this with their faculty advisers and with Anna Gillis (agillis@neh.gov [2] or 202- 606-8435) before applying.
