Calling all media makers, students, graphic designers, investigative reporters, artists!

February 4th marked the launch of an exciting national competition organized by the Illinois Humanities Council [2], with support from the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation [3]. The Looking@Democracy Challenge [4] offers a total of $100,000 in prize money for digital media pieces offering fresh, creative ideas and solutions to spark a national conversation on how we can all come together to strengthen and improve American democracy.

Looking@Democracy welcomes submissions in any digital format (videos, podcasts, apps, infographics, graphic art) that present creative ideas to help engage Americans and shift the political discussion in a fresh and engaging way.

Submissions will be accepted through April 30, 2013.

For more information, including full challenge rules [5], a list of judges, and ideas to get you started, visit lookingatdemocracy.org [4].
