Like more than a few other presidents, Lyndon Johnson was a larger-than-life figure who experienced both great success and deep failure. Beginning with footage of a joyful Lyndon Johnson dancing at his 1965 inaugural gala, this award-winning film traces Johnson's story from his early Texas days, Senate career, and tragic ascent to the presidency to his domestic victories. But the ever-growing, deeply unpopular war in Vietnam eclipsed it all, and he decided not to run for reelection.
