The Rhode Island Historical Society has been awarded a private grant from the Champlin Foundations that will -- in concert with grants from IMLS, the National Park Service, and the NEH -- complete funding requirements to renovate and rehabilitate the Society’s library facility containing 5,000 manuscripts, 100,000 books and 9 million feet of film, from the Providence Journal.
The Staten Island Museum to receive a $400,000 NEH Challenge Grant to support the museum's endowment, construction and maintenance of exhibit infrastructure, and technology upgrades, from Staten Island Live.
The University of Michigan Museum of Art has received a $500,000 NEH Challenge Grant, one of just nine total Challenge Grants for institutions across the United States. The museum intends to fundraise an additional $1.5 million in matching funds to generate enough financial resources to adapt in-house exhibits for online display and interaction, from The Detroit News.
