Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities 2014 Humanist of the Year: Walter Isaacson

The Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities has named journalist and author Walter Isaacson as its 2014 Humanist of the Year. Isaacson and other recipients will be honored at the Humanities Awards on Saturday, March 29th, 12:30 p.m., at the Audubon Tea Room in New Orleans.

Each year, the Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities (LEH) honors Louisianians who have made outstanding contributions to the study and understanding of the humanities. In addition to Humanist of the Year, the Humanities Awards are given for Lifetime Contribution to the Humanities, Humanities Documentary Film of the Year, Michael P. Smith Memorial Award for Documentary Photography, Humanities Book of the Year, the Chair’s Award for Institutional Support, Public Humanities Programming and Individual Achievement in the Humanities.

The Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities is the Louisiana affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities.
