Known primarily for its Shakespeare collection, the Folger supports research on all aspects of British and European literary, cultural, political, religious, and social history from the fifteenth through the eighteenth centuries. The Folger holds the largest collection—outside the UK—of early English books printed before 1640, including 116,000 books printed from 1475 to 1800, manuscripts, and art and film collections.
Two NEH fellowships carrying stipends of up to $50,400 are available for 2014-2015.
