What's Brewing in Chicago?

April 25, 2012 | By Federal/State Partnership Staff

Beer, or at least a discussion of beer at "What's Brewing in Chicago? The Politics of Beer."

The Illinois Humanities Council's program Public Square recently tackled a conversation about the politics of beer, both past and present. The discussion looked back on Chicago's history as the beer capital of the world, while also considering the rise of microbreweries today. The featured guest speakers were Elizabeth Garibay, public program manager at the Chicago History Museum and the founder of the Tales, Taverns, and Towns web project, and Pete Crowley, owner of the Haymarket Pub and Brewery and the president of the Illinois Craft Brewers Guild.

"What's Brewing in Chicago?" was recorded and is presented online by WBEZ Chicago Amplified.
