Maine Humanities Council seeks Student Humanities Ambassadors

January 14, 2014 | By Federal/State Partnership Staff

Calling all Maine sophmores and juniors! The Maine Humanities Council needs you to be one of their new Student Humanities Ambassadors.

The Maine Humanities Council is looking for a few creative and energetic rising 10th and 11th graders who are interested in community engagement using the humanities. Through their new Student Humanities Ambassador Program, selected students will work with MHC over the 2014-15 school year to identify a topic and create, plan, run, and evaluate a humanities-based program or event in their community in the spring of 2015. Each student will be given a $1,000 operations budget from MHC to help carry out their plans.

And just what are the humanities? Watch this video to find out.

The deadline for applications is March 31, 2014 and the first Student Ambassadors will be announced in April 2014.
