Indiana Humanities to help bring TEDx to Indianapolis

August 6, 2013 | By Federal/State Partnership Staff

Indiana Humanities will partner with other area organizations to bring a TEDx event to Indianapolis. TEDxIndianapolis will take place on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 right in the heart of downtown Indianapolis at the Hilbert Circle Theatre.

With a theme of MIX IT UP, organizers anticipate a day of Big Ideas, networking, inspiration, and innovation. Participants can expect an active mix of local and national speakers and performers, featured recorded TED talks, and many interactive experiences. The first set of six speakers has already been announced. The full list of speakers will be made public at a Mix for Tix event on August 15th. Discounted tickets will also be available at Mix for Tix.

TEDx was created in the spirit of TED's mission, "ideas worth spreading." TEDx, where x = an independently organized event, is designed to give communities, organizations, and individuals the opportunity to stimulate dialogue through TED-like experiences at the local level.

Tickets for TEDxIndianapolis go on sale on August 15 at 5:30pm.

The 2013 producing partners for TEDxIndianapolis are Big Car, Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, International School of Indiana, and Indiana Humanities.
