I wanted to bring readers' attention to a few NEH events at the Chicago Colloquium on Digital Humanities and Computer Science (http://dhcs.uchicago.edu), which will take place November 1-3 at the University of Chicago.  A funder's panel is scheduled during the pre-colloquium activities for the first day (November 1), and I will also be available during the poster sessions to discuss digital humanities projects and the NEH funding that supported them.  If you want to speak to a program officer about grant opportunities at NEH, and you happen to be in the Chicago area, this is a wonderful opportunity to not only learn about our programs, but also about the collaborative work of your peers.

Registration is set at the very affordable price of "free," but you need to register by this Friday.

Just a quick announcement that the deadline for the Institutes for Advanced Topics in the Digital Humanities program will be February 18, 2009.  I should note that a slightly revised version of the guidelines will go up on the NEH website in the next few weeks.  However, the revisions will be quite minor, so please do consult last year's guidelines in the meantime as you begin to plan your application.  Based on your feedback, we set the deadline earlier in the year so that, if funded, you will have the option of holding your workshop or institute in the summer of 2009.  I will send out another announcement as soon as the new guidelines are ready.

Update:  The new guidelines are now available!
