The Papers of Abraham Lincoln The Papers of Abraham Lincoln Project received a 2008 Scholarly Editions grant to identify, digitize, and publish comprehensively all documents written by or to Abraham Lincoln during his lifetime (1809-1865). Located at the Illinois Historic Preservation Agency in Springfield, the project is headed by Daniel W. Stowell. The project Web site provides free and open access to these documents for scholars, students, and the general public.
